CONTESTABLE DESIGN
Contestable Design and Project Management
All Victorian networks allow contestable design of their infrastructure up to 66kV. Normally there are two options:
Non-contestable design and PM (the network does it all, clients have less
control of timelines, contractors and pricing).
Contestable design and PM (we do it all, sequencing works to conform with your timeline, manage
competitive tenders and target cost savings).
Why go down the contestable path?
Clients can select contactors through competitive tenders to achieve the best project outcomes.
Clients gain more control and oversight of their project schedules.
Competitive markets drive the best pricing.
Utilisation of robust network connections and relationships.
DESIGN PROCESS
Our Design Workflow
Project Scoping
Review project requirements and scope electrical works.
DNSP Application
Register project with the network authority.
DNSP Negotiation
Negotiate the scope of the project with network authority.
Preliminary Design
Complete preliminary electrical design in-line with agreed scope.
Detailed Design
Complete detailed design in-line with network requirements.
DNSP Approval
Submit design and recieve network approval for construction works to commence.
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
Construction / Project Management Process
Project Kickoff Meeting
Initial project meeting with key stakeholders
to recognise and confirm roles and responsibilities.
Risk Mitigation
Identify potential risks and hazards, implement
mitigation measures to ensure safe and on-time delivery.
Cable Installation
Ensure all assets are installed to network
standards to mitigate audit non-compliances through ABRB site
presence.
Final Audit Preparation
Collation of all information and documentation
with key stakeholders such as electrical as-built plans, auditing and
network documentation.
Final Network Audit
Scheduling of final network audit, attendance to
network audit and timely action of audit outcomes.
Statement of Compliance or Practical Completion
Collation of all final
network documentation submission via network portal and receipt of
completion confirmation.
